It was a draw in the Midland Floodlit Youth League Southern Division for the young Bulls on Wednesday night.

Goals scored by Jack McGowan, Milo Corbett and Jack Tolley. A share of the spoils for the young Bulls, in which they pushed towards the end of the game to try to get a winner, just falling short.

We opened the scoring early on in the first half after a low cross from Jack Tolley on the right-hand side found Jack McGowan, who slotted into an empty net at the back post.

Cheltenham’s first opportunity of the game came with a left-footed shot from the edge of the box, which flew just over the bar from a tight angle.

We then doubled our lead after being awarded a free kick on the right wing, which Jack Tolley delivered into the box and found Milo Corbett, who slotted the ball low into the left-hand corner of the net.

They then pulled a goal back from the penalty spot after Milo Corbett brought down his man inside the box. The penalty was dispatched calmly with a drilled shot down the middle.

Shortly afterwards, Cheltenham drew level after a shot from the edge of the box was pushed out by Will Utley into the path of the onrushing striker, who slotted in the rebound from close range.

The final opportunity of the first half resulted in Cheltenham taking the lead at the break after a good ball to the right wing. A driving run into the box before cutting back and finding the bottom right corner past the Bulls stopper.

Half-Time: Hereford FC U18s 2-3 Cheltenham Town Dev.

Shortly after the Bulls were denied a penalty, we were awarded a free kick just outside the box on the left. Jack Tolley stepped up and hit a sublime curling shot, which hit the underside of the bar and into the top left-hand corner of the net to get us back on level terms.

The Young Bulls pushed towards the end in the search for a winner, but unfortunately, it wasn’t to be. It’s another point on the board, and we move on to a trip to Lye Town next.
