Hereford FC are delighted to announce that attacking midfielder, Sam Osborne, has joined the club on a season long loan from Alfreton Town.

26-year-old Osborne started his career at Notts County and has gone on to play for Leamington, AFC Fylde (who he joined for an undisclosed fee), Buxton and Boston, before joining Alfreton in February 2025.

He has made 114 appearances in the National League North, scoring 30 goals. He has also scored 4 goals in 31 National League appearances.

Speaking about his latest signing, Bulls boss, Paul Caddis, said:

“Sam is a player I’ve tracked for quite some time if truth be told, but with other opportunities and work commitments it wasn’t quite possible to get him over the line.

“He will bring us creativity at the top end of the pitch and he is a player who will work hard, both in and out of possession, to be a positive influence for us.

“I’m really pleased to have finally got the deal over the line and would like to thank Billy Heath and everyone at Alfreton for making it a very straightforward process in the end.

“I’d also like to thank our brilliant supporters for their Squad Builder contributions because it’s a matter of fact that this generosity, along with that of the Founding Shareholders, has allowed this deal to happen, so thank you to everyone who has played their part.”

Sam will go straight into the Bulls squad and will be in line to make his first appearance in the club’s final pre-season friendly at Chippenham Town this afternoon (Saturday 2 August).
