Hereford will be wanting to return to winning ways after a disappointing 5-1 loss to Kidderminster as they look to secure their place in the play-offs.
“We started both halves very poorly, but it is important we move on quickly and stay positive as we need to attack Saturday,” said Paul Caddis.
Before the defeat, the Whites had been on a good run of form seeing them go five unbeaten with four of them being wins which fired them back into contention for the top seven.
It is a complicated set of circumstances that can see the Bulls finish in or outside the play-offs, with six teams mathematically able to finish in the top seven.
Hereford go into the final game on Saturday in seventh on 76 points, level on points and goal difference with Curzon Ashton who sit just outside the play-offs, with just three points separating Chorley in sixth down to Spennymoor in 10th.
Scunthorpe have had a great season so far as they currently occupy third on 87 points with 25 wins, 12 draws and eight losses.
This season’s title race is going right down to the wire with just two points separating the Iron in third and Kidderminster and Brackley who are both on 89 in first and second.
The remit for the side from Lincolnshire is quite simple, they have to win to stand any chance of getting automatic promotion, and even then they will have to rely on other results, a draw or loss will not be enough for them.
Andy Butler’s team have been on a mixed run of form recently as they have won three of their last five with the other two being losses.
The last game was an emphatic 5-0 win at home to Peterborough Sports which has given them a slither of hope.
Caddis and Butler’s sides have met this season, just before Christmas in a 0-0 draw at Glanford Park.
Hereford fans will be hoping to see their side secure a play-off spot in what is sure to be a dramatic final game of the season.
