Hereford Women delivered a brilliant performance in their powerful 11-1 victory over Nunnery Wood Women at Edgar Street.

The game kicked off with Hereford immediately applying pressure on the Nunnery Wood defence.

It didn’t take long for Hereford to open the scoring, as Jess Kenny found the back of the net just one minute into the game. A perfectly timed long ball from Sheree Smith set up Kenny, who calmly slotted the ball in after the Nunnery goalkeeper made an initial stop.

Hereford continued to dominate, with several opportunities, but Nunnery’s goalkeeper was on hand to deny them.

Smith beat the keeper with a clever effort, but the Nunnery defence managed to clear the ball off the line.

Hereford’s pressure paid off when Robyn Mear intercepted a poor clearance from the Nunnery keeper, making it 2-0.

The attacking play didn’t ease off, as Amelia Griffiths made it 3-0 in the 13th minute with a beautifully struck shot to the bottom right corner of the net.

More chances kept coming, and Griffiths was in the right place to score after a save from the keeper, pushing the lead to 4-0.

While Nunnery managed a few rare breaks past the halfway line, Hereford’s defence held firm. Another chance fell to Yssie Pearson, but again, the Nunnery goalkeeper was there to make the save.

Hereford’s attacking fluidity was evident as Molly Camden delivered a fantastic ball to Mear, who set up Pearson, but both attempts went narrowly wide.

The fifth goal came when Captain Sian Bull picked out Griffiths with a precise through ball, allowing her to complete her hat-trick and make it 5-0.

A decent delivery from Mia Sherrard was just missed by Griffiths, but it didn’t take long for Pearson to score her first goal of the match, making it 6-0 just before half-time.

Despite a few offside calls and missed opportunities, Hereford went into the break with a strong lead.

HALF-TIME: Hereford 6-0 Nunnery Wood

The second half saw no let-up in Hereford’s intensity. Kenny made it 7-0 early on, calmly slotting the ball past the goalkeeper into the bottom corner.

Taylor was then presented with an open goal, but her shot struck the post, a clear opportunity wasted.

Nunnery’s first real chance of the match came in the 50th minute when Bull was penalised for a questionable tackle just outside the box, giving Nunnery a free kick. However, the attempt went wide, and Hereford’s defence remained impenetrable.

Hereford continued to press, and a clever pass from Smith put Darcie through on goal, but her shot went wide. Mear also had another chance, but once again, her effort went off target.

Smith added a further goal to make it 8-0, finishing neatly after a well-executed assist.

Griffiths provided a brilliant assist, crossing the ball into the box for Smith, who took full advantage, scoring her second goal of the game to make it 9-0.

A defensive mistake then allowed Nunnery to pull one back, scoring their only goal of the game to make it 9-1.

Hereford responded almost immediately. Bull scored to make it 10-1, before Pearson completed her brace, scoring her second goal of the match to seal the win at 11-1.

In the end, Hereford’s attacking prowess was simply too much for Nunnery, and they thoroughly deserved their victory.
