The points were shared in Derbyshire as Hereford drew 0-0 with Alfreton Town.

After the draw, the Bulls drop down to ninth whilst the Reds hold onto their position in fifth.

Paul Caddis made just one change to the side that was knocked out of the FA Cup with Andy Williams coming in for Cosmos Matwasa.

Billy Heath named an unchanged lineup to the one that beat Kidderminster.

The game got off to a quiet start with neither goalkeeper being tested until the 14th minute when Aaron Chapman caught a header from Adam Lund.

Alfreton continued to grow into the game soon after when Billy Whitehouse had the ball in space just outside the Bulls’ box but he sent his effort wide.

After a quiet 20 minute period, Yusifu Ceesay drove towards the box and put a dangerous ball into the area which just evaded Andy Williams.

The Bulls had their first decent chance in the 43rd minute when Ahkeem Rose picked out Williams with a cross but the striker could not direct his header on target.

Caddis’ side had the best opportunity of the game so far late on in the first half when Ceesay beat his man to put himself in on goal, he attempted to chip the keeper but it was a good save by George Willis.

That was the final action of the half meaning that it was 0-0 going into the break.

The hosts came close early on in the second 45 when Kyle Howkins misjudged a long ball which allowed Liam Waldock an opportunity but his shot was blocked and dealt with by Howkins and Matt Preston.

In the 52nd minute, Hereford continued their bright start to the second half when the ball dropped to Tate Campbell from a corner but his shot from 12 yards out was blocked.

The Bulls came close again in the 69th minute when Ceesay delivered another dangerous ball into the box which was dealt with via a last-ditch clearance.

Rose had the ball in the back of the net four minutes later but he was deemed to be offside, the forward was subsequently booked for his protests about the decision.

Straight after that, Rose was in the action again when debutant Ty Deacon laid the ball off for him but his shot was blocked before it reached the keeper.

In the 90th minute, Ceesay crossed the ball towards the front post and found Rose but his flicked header was over meaning that the game finished 0-0.
