We are delighted to announce that Hereford FC manager, Paul Caddis, has agreed a one-year extension to his contract at Edgar Street, which now runs until the end of the 2025/26 season.
The Bulls’ boss has enjoyed an excellent first season at Edgar Street, guiding the club to its highest ever points total in the National League North, despite having to build his playing squad from scratch after the release of all but one player at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.
In addition to the on-field improvement, Caddis has also played a key role in helping to rebuild the relationship between the pitch and the stands through the high standards he demands of his players and his own honest communication with supporters.
Expressing his own thoughts on extending his stay at Edgar Street, Bulls boss, Paul Caddis, said:
“I am extremely proud and excited to continue my journey at such a fantastic football club.
“From the day I walked through the door, I knew there was a special feeling at this club and I felt it just needed to be woken up. I believe that, along with my staff, we have managed to do that and bring a connection back. My drive and focus will not change and I will continue to represent the club in a way that replicates the amazing support you bring to us.
“I want to thank my backroom staff for being on this journey with me and agreeing to continue to work alongside me. We work very closely as a group and Adam Rooney, in particular, has been and will always be my closest ally when needed.
“Looking to the future, it’s important we continue to build and improve year on year and with your help I believe we can achieve good things at the club. I’d like to thank the Chairman and the Board of Directors firstly for the opportunity they gave me and secondly, for recognising that I am the man to continue to take the club forward in a positive manner.
“Finally, a message to you, our supporters. I have always been open and honest with you and I will continue to do that for as long as I have the honour to represent this great football club as manager.
“I will make mistakes and I will get things wrong, but rest assured I will protect your football club with the integrity and respect it deserves. Thank you for your support for my players, but also personally to me.
“I could never have imagined my name being sung by supporters so loudly and consistently after just one season. It really is a special feeling for me because not many people, if any, knew what I would bring to your club. It’s been a continued privilege to represent your club and you as a fan base – you are the best in the league by a country mile and you should not be told otherwise by anyone.
“Let’s look forward to a really good, positive summer where we can hopefully create continuity and we will see you back at the historic Edgar Street in a few months time.
“Have a great summer and we can’t wait to see you all again in fine voice as always.”
Speaking about the manager’s contract extension, Club Chairman, Chris Ammonds, said:
“I am absolutely delighted Paul has committed to the club until the end of the 2025/26 season. Since arriving at Edgar Street, he has had a huge impact, both with the whole-hearted, committed displays
he has demanded from his team, and also with his straight talking and openness when communicating with supporters.
“As a Board, we know it is vitally important to ensure the club continues to move towards stability and extending Paul’s stay at Edgar Street is a key part of that.
“The success of any football club stems from the product on the field and this season we have watched some very entertaining matches and have been able to enjoy a team with a never say die attitude that has never given up.
“That attitude stems from the Paul and his staff and the way the players have embraced our club – and conducted themselves with supporters – is also a clear indication of the respect that is demanded by their manager.
“While there are never any guarantees in football, this is potentially a very significant announcement for the future of our football club and, looking ahead to the next two years, I’m really looking forward to seeing how Paul continues to develop with the benefit of the additional things he has learned from his very first campaign as a manager.”
