Hereford FC in the Community – Schools Project

Based on a 7-week programme, the students will learn not just footballing skills, but other key skills using invasion games, team building games, problem solving and much more! We work with young people who need help in the form of intervention groups. This would either be a group of young people aged 6-10 or a group of 11–16-year-olds who find being in a classroom difficult
It is an opportunity to get them out of the classroom, giving them a release and allowing their brains to be active when they go back in the classroom.
For a lot of the individuals, it is a chance to be doing a sport which they love to play in the playground with more structure.
Our sessions bring the class closer together; students who are not often seen interacting with each other often do so using the power of football.
We make sure all abilities and genders are taken into consideration and how we can make sure they’re all present and participate in the sessions.
We have found that some young people will ensure they attend school on the day they know they have our football sessions!
