Off the Line
Off the Line is a project around early prevention. It builds on the considerable success of a project called Going for Goal, which was established in 2019 working alongside the West Mercia Police and Herefordshire FA.
The session is run on Tuesdays (4-5pm) and Thursday evenings (4:30-5:30pm) for young people who have had challenging backgrounds. Since the sessions have been running, we have gone from 4 attending to 25 on a weekly basis.
The purpose of the session is to engage with the most vulnerable young people in the county, providing unstructured football sessions and a safe space, working alongside the Herefordshire FA and West Merica Police. The HFA give us the facility at cost price, and the police and the young people grow a better relationship within the community.
