Match Report

After an early Kidderminster corner was cleared, Hereford began to find their rhythm. Jack Tolley forced a fine save from the visitors’ goalkeeper before winning the ball back and rounding the keeper to set up Jude Gaudin for the opener.

Tolley came close again before half-time with a curling effort saved low by the Kidderminster goalkeeper, while the visitors’ captain fired just wide as Hereford took a 1-0 lead into the break.

The young Bulls doubled their advantage early in the second half when Tolley dispossessed a defender near the corner flag and crossed for Gaudin to slot home his second. Gaudin nearly completed his hat-trick moments later but was twice denied by the opposing goalkeeper.

The match turned on a missed penalty. After Tolley was fouled with an empty net beckoning, his spot-kick was saved. Kidderminster capitalised immediately, pulling one back from a free-kick before leveling from a corner.

The visitors completed their comeback from the penalty spot after a foul inside the box, taking the lead for the first time.

Late tensions boiled over into an altercation involving both sets of players and management. The referee issued three red cards to Hereford players (Riley Purvin, George Matravers, Harry Metcalfe) and three to Kidderminster players before blowing the final whistle.
