The points were shared at the MandM Edgar Street Stadium as Hereford drew 2-2 with Bedford Town.

Ryan Blake gave his side an early lead before dangerman Tyrone Marsh made it two shortly after.

Hereford fought back in a much-improved second-half display with a stunning goal from Lawson D’Ath before Montel Gibson equalised late on.

After the draw, the Bulls dropped to 20th, whilst the Eagles remained in 21st.

Paul Caddis named an unchanged lineup to the one that beat Alfreton on Saturday, with new signing Gibson on the bench.

Lee Bircham made four changes to the side that lost to AFC Fylde, with Lewis Green, Carl Mensah, Marsh, and Josh Dawudo replacing Declan Phillips, Josh Tomlinson, Shaun Jeffers, and Ben Isaacson.

The visitors got off to the perfect start in the fourth minute when they broke forward down the left wing, a cross was then floated to the back post by Ellis Brown to Blake, who headed home to give them the lead.

Bedford doubled their lead in the 16th minute when Marsh picked up a loose ball just outside the box, he then worked it onto his left foot before firing it past Theo Richardson.

Bircham’s side kept up the pressure on the half-hour mark when Lewis Coyle was picked out inside the box, he headed it towards goal, but Richardson was equal to it with a fantastic save.

On the cusp of half-time, Andy Williams attempted an ambitious curling effort which went narrowly wide of the far post.

That was the final action of the first half, which meant it was 0-2 going into the break.

Marsh nearly had another early in the second 45 when he attempted to tuck a free-kick just inside the near post, but Richardson got across to make the save.

The Bulls had a huge chance in the 51st minute when I-Lani Edwards put a cross into the box, which found the head of Eno Nto, but Dan Wilks tipped it onto the bar and out for a corner.

Gibson and Remaye Campbell made an instant impact when they came off the bench, with multiple efforts at goal, none of which were too difficult for Wilks.

Caddis’ side pulled one back in the 68th minute when a corner was cleared out to D’Ath, the midfielder then caught a half-volley from range cleanly, which went flying into the bottom corner.

The home side continued the pressure with lots of possession and shots at goal, but they just could not break down the stubborn Bedford defence.

Hereford pushed hard for an equaliser but left themselves short at the back in the 80th minute when Jeffers was put through on goal, but his attempt was saved by Richardson.

The Bulls got the reward for the constant pressure in the 87th minute when Wilks dropped the ball after he claimed a cross, where Gibson was on hand to poke it home.

Caddis’ side tried to find a late winner, but they were unable to, which meant it finished 2-2.
