Hereford will be looking to build on a pre-season campaign which saw them pick up two wins, two draws, and two losses.

The final friendly of pre-season was a 3-2 loss away to National League South side Chippenham Town last Saturday.

Spennymoor had mixed fortunes during pre-season, winning their first three games but losing the final four, although three of those defeats came against National League opposition.

In their last friendly, they hosted York City in a narrow 1-0 loss. York only just missed out on promotion to League Two last season.

Both sides will once again have aspirations of promotion this season, having finished just one point outside the play-offs last term. They ended the campaign level on 76 points, with the Moors boasting a slightly better goal difference.

Hereford’s tenth placed finish last season was the club’s highest in the National League North since their promotion in 2018, something they’ll be aiming to build on.

Paul Caddis and Graeme Lee’s side met twice last season in the league, a 0-0 draw at the Brewery Field and a 2-0 for Spennymoor at Edgar Street.

The travelling Hereford fans will be hoping to see their side get the 2025/2026 season off to the perfect start on Saturday.

Team News

Eight new signings will be looking to make their competitive debut for the Bulls on Saturday.

Preston Bitemo, who missed most of last season due to a stress fracture in his back, has returned to fitness during pre-season and is back in contention for a place in the squad.

One to Watch:

Glen Taylor (SPENNYMOOR):

The striker and captain is a club legend at the Moors, with over 270 league appearances and 151 goals since signing in 2015.

Taylor scored 18 goals last season, including one in the 2-0 win at Edgar Street.

During his eight-year spell in the National League North, Taylor has only scored less than 10 in a season once, a campaign in which he only made 13 apperances and scored eight goals.

Lee will be hoping his talisman can get the season off to a goal-scoring start on Saturday.
