2-0

Andy Williams took the lead in the 17th minute with a strike from range before he got another early in the second half with a header from a corner.

The win moved the Bulls into 18th, whilst the Reds dropped to 20th.

Paul Caddis made two changes to the side that lost to Radcliffe, with debutant Michael Parker and Williams coming in for Matt Preston and Remaye Campbell.

Billy Heath named an unchanged lineup to the one that beat Marine, with Adam Lund captaining the side.

The first chance of the game fell to Hereford in the ninth minute when Lewis Hudson flicked the ball over the heads of the defenders, it then dropped to Williams, but his acrobatic attempt was straight at George Willis.

Caddis’ side kept up the positive start in the 17th minute when Williams received the ball outside the area, he then shifted the ball onto his left to beat a man and fired it past the keeper to give the Bulls the lead.

After a quiet period, Alfreton had their first corner on the half-hour mark, which was headed away to the feet of Max Hunt, but he dragged his effort wide.

The Reds had another chance in the 38th minute when Hunt unleashed a powerful strike which looked destined for the bottom left, but Aaron Skinner was on hand to make a vital block.

Heath’s side continued to push for an equaliser a few minutes later when Billy Fewster carried the ball down the left, he then delivered it to Joseph Dodoo, who put his shot just wide.

On the verge of half-time, the ball fell to Jack Leckie in the middle of the box following a free-kick, but he sent his effort wide.

That brought to an end an overall quite scrappy and quiet first half, with Hereford 1-0 up at the break.

The Bulls doubled their lead in the 51st minute when Williams put a glancing header past Willis from an Omari Sterling-James corner for his second of the game.

Things went from bad to worse for the away side just past the hour mark when Leckie was shown a second yellow card for a foul on Sterling-James, which put them down to 10 men.

In the 68th minute, Hereford broke forward through I-Lani Edwards, he played it out wide to Sterling-James, who fed it back to the midfielder, but his effort was saved well by Willis.

Edwards came close again in the 76th minute when he cut inside onto his left and fired a strike that had lots of movement on it from range, which forced the keeper into another good save.

The action kept falling to Edwards when he found himself through on goal ten minutes later, he attempted to dink the ball past Willis, but it went just wide.

That was the final action of the game, which meant it finished 2-0.
