It ends in victory for the Community U18s in the first game of the season in the Midland Floodlit Youth League Southern Division. Goals scored by Jack Tolley, Josh Mills and Jack McGowan. A superb home win by the young Bulls to kick off the season.

The first opportunity of the game fell to us after a free kick was won by Robby Neilson inside the Inkberrow half, Jack Tolley played the ball into the box which bounced around before finding it’s way out to Robby Neilson which his left footed shot was saved by the Inkberrow goalkeeper. Soon after Inkberrow had their first opportunity as they won the ball on the edge of our box and had a right footed shot which was well saved by Will Utley.

The young Bulls opened the scoring with a free kick on the right hand edge of the box, Jack Tolley took it with his right foot which he curled the ball and it bounced just in front of the goalkeeper and found it’s way into the bottom right hand corner of the net.

Inkberrow then had a free kick of their own just inside our half which bounced before being easily saved by Will Utley. Inkberrow then thought they had equalised but it was given as offside after a neat ball through found a striker who’s effort beat Will Utley and hit the post before the rebound fell to an attacker who was following in.

However shortly afterwards they did draw level with a superbly hit right footed volley from just outside the area which looped over the head of Will Utley and into the top left corner.

A shot from a tight angle on the left hand edge of the box went just wide from the Inkberrow forward. Followed by a good opportunity for Hereford to try to regain the lead after Kayode Sahabi was played through on the right hand touch line, drove through on goal and had a right footed curling effort which was only pushed out by the goalkeeper and he got the rebound, hit a left footed shot but it flew high over the bar.

We had the final opportunity of the half after we won another free kick this time on the left which was played into the box by Jack Tolley and was met by the head of Josh Mills who’s effort crashed off the bar and into the net but was given offside.

Into the second half and Inkberrow had the first opportunity of the half after they won a free kick on the left hand touch line, it was played into the box and bounced around in the box but we did well to clear the danger. They then had another chance after a good run by a striker but his right footed shot was just wide of the right hand post.

Our first opportunity of the half was from a free kick just inside the Inkberrow half, Jack Tolley played the ball into the box but it was cleared. We thought we then had won a penalty after Jack Tolley played a neat one-two with Robby Neilson inside the box before having his legs taken away from him but the referee waved the appeals away.

Jack Tolley took a corner from the right, which bounced around inside the box and fell to Josh Mills on the edge who hit a great right footed volley which was well saved. We then had another corner this time on the left which was played in again by Jack Tolley which was met by the head of Davyd Antoniuk but his effort was just wide of the left post.

Shortly afterwards we got away with one after Inkberrow had a guilt edge chance to gain the lead after Josh Mills lost the ball just outside our box before being played across the six yard area for a striker but with the goal gaping he spooned his effort high over the bar.

We then had a chance after a mix up at the back by Inkberrow lead to Kayode Sahabi having an effort which was well saved by the right leg of the goalkeeper and out for a corner.

Inkberrow then took the lead for the first time in the game after a corner on the left was played into the box which was met with the head of a teammate and nestled into the bottom right hand corner of the net.

However we weren’t behind for long and got back on level terms after we won a free kick on the right, it was played into the box by Jack Tolley before finding it’s way to the back post where Josh Mills was waiting and he hit a superb right footed volley which cannoned in off the underside of the crossbar

We showed great grit and determination to then retake the lead and seal a huge win on the opening evening of the season after a good run from Jack Tolley on the right hand edge of the box, he played it across the face where Jack McGowan was lurking in the centre of the box and tapped the ball into the bottom right hand corner of the net.

Onto the second game of the season with a trip to Avery FC Juniors. Well done and played lads!
