Hereford FC are delighted to add experienced central midfielder, Gus Mafuta, to the squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Gus started his career in the Colchester academy before a move to Bristol City’s U18s in 2014.

After a spell on loan from Bristol City, Mafuta joined National League side Gateshead before a move to Salford City where he helped The Ammies gain promotion to Step 1.

He remained in the National League with clubs such as Hartlepool, Boreham Wood, York City and Solihull Moors, racking up 250 appearances at the top of the non-league system.

The physical central midfielder will bring more presence and ability to the middle of the park.

Speaking about his latest addition, Bulls boss, Paul Caddis, said:

“I think the signing of someone like Gus is massive for our football club.

“I’ve made it no secret that I wanted to bolster the size and presence of our central midfield department and to bring someone in with the quality and experience of Gus shows you exactly what happens when you show some patience in the market.

“He has a wealth of experience at the levels above and he is someone I’ve had my eye on for the best part of 18 months. I am delighted he has decided to join us and he will add real quality to our squad.”
