Hereford FC Chairman, Chris Ammonds, has confirmed that total contributions to the 2025/26 Squad Builder initiative have now reached £20,000, which is one third of the way to the target of £60,000 which the club’s Founding Shareholders have agreed to match.

So far around 100 fans have donated to Squad Builder and taken up the opportunity to directly help Bulls boss, Paul Caddis, as he builds his squad for the 2025/26 National League North campaign.

Whether fans make a one-off donation or a monthly contribution, every single payment will make a huge difference to the club’s chances of success.

As has been stated many times, money donated to Squad Builder is ringfenced for the playing budget – meaning it can only be spent on improving our squad – and everyone at the club is very grateful to those individuals who have already contributed this close season.

If you donated last year and would like to continue your support, please do remember to renew your Squad Builder payment as it does not roll over automatically.

Speaking earlier today, Ammonds said:

“As a Board, after two successful seasons, we have made as much money available for the 2025/26 playing budget as we feel is safely possible without overstretching the club’s finances, but there is no getting away from the fact that our budget is still some way short of many other teams.

“That’s because Hereford FC does not have an individual benefactor putting money into the club and is why Squad Builder is so important to us. Squad Builder provides additional money to the playing budget that sits outside any of our regular income streams and directly improves our chances of on-field success.

“The success of ‘Boost the Budget’ type initiatives at other clubs without a benefactor this summer has been remarkable, with several hundred supporters contributing, and I believe that if we could get anywhere near replicating this with our supporters, then we really would be in an even better place to kick on and build further on the good work done over the past two seasons.

“Last season, even in the toughest of times, our brilliant supporters raised more than £50,000 for our Squad Builder initiative, which was then matched by the Founding Shareholders to take the overall total to more than £100,000.

“This year, donations up to £60,000 will again be match funded, which means there is a huge opportunity for supporters to offer their direct support to our manager by helping to provide him an extra £120,000.

“And it’s worth remembering, that the sooner Squad Builder donations come in, the more options it gives Paul as we move through pre-season and he looks to add to the 15 players we already have signed up.

“Simply doubling the number of Squad Builder contributors from just over 100 to just over 200 would have a terrific, positive impact, and taking into account our average attendances were more than 2800 last year, I‘d love to think that this could come to fruition.

“Finally, thank you once again to the 100 or so individuals who have contributed to Squad Builder so far – your support is hugely appreciated.”
