Hereford FC is delighted to announce that the club’s Founding Shareholders have again offered to ‘match fund’ donations made by fellow Bulls supporters as Squad Builder 2025/26 is launched.
For the second year running, the offer from the Founding Shareholders will see them match the amount of money donated to Squad Builder by the wider fanbase (including members of Hereford United Supporters Trust) in a drive to further boost the playing budget that Bulls’ manager, Paul Caddis, has available to him.
As always, every penny raised through Squad Builder will be ringfenced and can only be spent on the playing squad, meaning each donation – big or small – has a direct impact on the field of play. Money raised by Squad Builder is particularly vital as it is income that is outside the forecast figures as the club’s Board puts together draft budgets at the start of each financial year.
Last season, the total amount of money donated to Squad Builder – including the match funding from the Founding Shareholders – was just over £100,000, so the aim this year is to at the very least reach the same total to provide as much additional support to the Hereford FC manager as possible.
With the Founding Shareholders offering to match fund up to £60,000, there really is the opportunity for supporters to have a direct impact on the quality of players on the MandM Edgar Street Stadium pitch.
Huge Opportunity For Fans
As an example of the potentially massive impact this initiative could have on Squad Builder, if 250 fans were able to donate £10 a month for 12 months (approximately £2.50 per week), it would add £30,000 to the playing budget, while if 500 fans made the same donation, the total would reach £60,000.
That £60,000 would then be doubled to an incredible £120,000 thanks to the fantastic ‘match funding’ offer from the Founding Shareholders, so the opportunity for the club’s whole fanbase to work together to boost the playing budget this year is enormous!

“Like all supporters, the Founding Shareholders – who are all longstanding Bulls fans – are really proud of the positive progress made by the club over the past two seasons and have also enjoyed the fantastic bond that has been rebuilt between the stands, terraces and the pitch.
“With the National League North getting more and more competitive every year, the money donated through Squad Builder remains vitally important because it sits outside the club’s regular income streams. These donations could therefore make a crucial difference in terms adding extra depth and quality to Paul’s squad, and I know how grateful he is for every single penny that fans are willing to support him with.
“I’d like to place on record my sincere thanks for this offer and I really hope it adds even more impetus to our Squad Builder initiative moving forward and that it takes donations towards the club’s playing budget to new levels.”
