Good evening,

I expect most are still travelling back from the game away to Marine today. Firstly I hope you all return home safely.

As the month of February has finished I thought I’d start the month of March with some updated news.

Injury wise we are still looking after Preston Bitemo as best as we can with his current stress fracture injury, but he is coming along well.

DJ Sturridge rolled his ankle and was unable to complete training on Thursday night and we are hopeful he will be back available for Tuesday night’s session after assessment from the medical team.

Tate Campbell struggled with a groin pain on Tuesday evening and was withdrawn from the squad but managed to make the squad today and hopefully will be back to full fitness in the coming days.

Sammy Robinson went for a scan yesterday (Friday) and we are awaiting the results from that which we hope to get mid/end of next week.

Onto the football side of things. Let’s cut to the chase. 25 points from 30 available in the last 10 games is an incredible return. I will protect these players till the very end and when I say there isn’t a group of men who deserve that points return more than the guys we have representing our club, I genuinely mean it.

When you factor in the previous 10 games it’s not just an hours’ drive here and hours’ drive there. The fact we’ve had to travel to Peterborough Sports , South Shields and Needham Market on Tuesday evenings and then to Kings Lynn following the long Needham journey is a remarkable show of the character from these lads have and, most importantly, for you fans a show of the dedication they put in to your football club.

Not once have I had one player complain about the journeys or tiredness or feeling sorry for themselves. They’ve simply pulled their socks up and got on with it.

I am always careful when I say we are in a false position in terms of competing at a level playing field. It’s not an excuse it’s the reality.

It’s not a complaint but more a fact that a connection between players and fans and a togetherness of a community and football club won’t replace money as we know, but it goes a long way to bridging that gap and that’s exactly what my players and you fans have done for this football club.

We have 10 league games remaining. 5 at home and 5 away. I won’t dare ask you to fill the stadium out because I know the type of supporters you are.

What I can and will ask is for those 5 home games bring that noise and positivity you always do. You as supporters want a big final push from us players and I’m asking as YOUR manager to give my boys one big push from the stands.

You are a credit to your football club and I have said from day 1 when myself and Adam walked through the door, my proudest moment at this club is seeing scenes like today.

You stood there as a group today and you applauded those players. That’s a connection that is stronger than any pound!

As always we as a group really truly appreciate your support. I have just spoken about the distance the players travelled and up for work the next day and so on. I absolutely understand you fans are the exact same. Your effort and dedication is special and we truly love everyone of you for doing it.

Finally, I want to mention the people behind the scenes who do the work that you don’t see. The office staff and voluntary board members are continuing to try their best to bridge the gap in this unrealistic league. They work tirelessly on a number of things throughout the club.

The volunteers don’t go unnoticed by me either. You do all the jobs no-one wants to do and you do it with pride. Everyone connected to the football club is and will continue to play a part in a positive manner.

We are on a 10 game season to progress from last season’s 69 points. Every point gained is well earned in this uncompromising tough league. To all my own backroom team, which is only a small tight knit group of staff consisting of Adam, Shaun, James and Dan and I sincerely thank you for your support.

Adam Rooney is someone I always include in everything I do. He’s a credit to the football club. He really really cares about this club and wants the best for the players.

February has been a brilliant month. March has started off unbeaten.

See you all next week.

Take care and enjoy your weekend!
