Hereford FC U18s 3 – 2 Cinderford U18s

Hereford FC U18s staged an impressive comeback to secure a dramatic 3-2 victory over Cinderford U18s in the first round of the HFA Giant Killers Cup.

The game started brightly for Hereford, as they dominated the opening 10-15 minutes with fluid passing and confident play, but they struggled to find the final ball or finish to break the deadlock.

20th Minute

Cinderford took the lead against the run of play. A well-delivered free kick into the box caused problems for the Hereford defence, and the visitors capitalised with a close-range finish from six yards out.

30th Minute

Cinderford doubled their lead after a cutback from the right wing found its way across the goal. In the ensuing scramble, the ball was forced home, leaving Hereford with a mountain to climb.

45th Minute

Just before halftime, Hereford pulled one back. A perfectly weighted through ball from Aiden Rhodes found Caden Allport, who kept his composure to go one-on-one with the keeper and slot home from 15 yards, bringing the score to 2-1 at the break.

Second Half

55th Minute

The second half began with renewed energy from Hereford, and they were rewarded for their efforts when Aiden Rhodes unleashed a stunning 20-yard strike that flew into the bottom corner, leveling the game at 2-2.

75th Minute

Hereford completed the turnaround in style. A magnificent pass from Joe Orledge split the defence, setting up Otto Parry for a cool finish past the onrushing goalkeeper, putting the hosts 3-2 ahead.

In the final stages, Cinderford threw everything forward in search of an equaliser, but Hereford’s defence showed tremendous desire and resilience to hold firm and see out the win.

It was a thrilling performance full of character and determination from Hereford, who advance to the next round with confidence.
