Hereford FC extends its thanks to outgoing Community Engagement Manager, Jon Nash, who leaves to take up a full-time coaching role within the women’s game.  

Throughout his tenure, Jon headed up the club’s Community department and was involved in the creation of the new Community Interest Company, working hard to strengthen relationships within the local community and create meaningful community programs. In 2022 he was recognised for his community work with a High Sheriffs Award. His passion was especially evident in his support for the Women’s team, his work within local schools, and also for his support of the Community U18s, where he played an important role in providing opportunities for young and aspiring footballers, encouraging a positive environment for players at all levels. 

Jon’s also worked on helping to develop the club’s community strategy, laying the groundwork for future growth and engagement. Under his guidance, Hereford FC has reached new heights in community involvement, fostering a spirit of inclusivity and connection that is a foundation of a community club. 

Ruth Walkden, Chair of Hereford FC in the Community said “Jon has worked really hard engaging with the young people involved in all the projects that he ran here, and which have gone from strength to strength under his leadership. I speak on behalf of everyone involved in Hereford FC in the Community that we wish him well for his future career in Welsh Women’s Football.

Following the departure of Jon Nash, Hereford FC in the Community, in partnership with Hereford FC is now looking to appoint a replacement Community Engagement Manager. This person will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing community engagement initiatives to foster positive relationships across the local community. 

Current activities include a Community U18’s team, a Women’s team, work in local schools and colleges, “Off the Line” and holiday soccer camps.
