Hereford FC Chairman, Chris Ammonds, has confirmed that the original work programme for the installation of the club’s new floodlights is going to be extended.
Work had already been delayed by the extreme weather conditions experienced across Herefordshire last week – with flooding delaying the full drilling of the foundation holes for the floodlight towers.
The Bulls Chairman said:
“While the extreme weather last week caused the initial delays to the planned work, the volume of water in the ground has actually proved helpful as it has given an insight into future problems that could have occurred, meaning the original plans can be adapted and further future proofing for this installation included.
“Our contractor is still aiming to complete this work as soon as possible and I have no doubt that it is better to complete this work now, rather than being faced with having to carry it out once the floodlights have already been installed.
“We will continue to work closely with our contractor on the installation and will provide a further update to supporters in due course.
“Finally, just to reassure supporters once again, our current floodlights remain usable and therefore there is no need to worry about the club’s ability to host any of its forthcoming home matches.”
