While Hereford FC is pleased to report that work to install the new Edgar Street floodlights started on Monday, the extreme weather conditions experienced over the past 36 hours has caused work to be delayed.

This is because the sheer volume of rain water has left the ground saturated, meaning planned groundworks have not been able to proceed.

While the delays mean the installation may take longer than was originally planned, they will not affect the club’s ability to host forthcoming home games as the current floodlights remain usable if required.

Bulls Chairman, Chris Ammonds, said:

“This delay is frustrating but unfortunately there is absolutely nothing we can do about the ever helpful British weather!

“The extreme conditions have had an impact on far more important things locally than the installation of our floodlights and I hope that those people badly affected by flooding are all doing OK.

“We will provide further updates on the floodlight installation project when we can, but hopefully the delays will be minimal and the weather will be kinder moving forward.”
