From the 3rd to the 9th of June we’ll be celebrating our Volunteers that help to keep Hereford FC ticking over. Without their support, our football club wouldn’t be able to run the way it does.
We caught up with our Volunteer Co-ordinator, Rob Bullock:
“Volunteering at a football club the size of Hereford FC doesn’t just stop when the final whistle of the season goes. In fact that’s when a lot of the hard work actually starts.
The close season is the is the time when the stadium gets the attention it cannot while the football is going on. This is when the ‘old girl’ gets spruced up with coats of paint, those well trodden areas and parts you can’t easy reach get the attention they need. These are the things that always go unnoticed because they happen when people aren’t around to see it.
Our Matchday volunteers also get the chance of a well deserved holiday so that they can return for the new season suitably refreshed (hopefully!). The hard work and time they commit every weekend to help the club get through the busiest of matchdays never goes unnoticed.
We also need to take into consideration the other areas that continue to operate such as the club shop. It’s a busy time of year with season ticket sales along with the pressures throughout the season on matchdays and during the week. Our dedicated directors are too volunteers and their roles don’t stop once the season is over.
The club is eternally grateful for the hard work each and every volunteer puts in to helping our football club run smoothly.
