Hereford FC Chairman, Chris Ammonds, has confirmed that the club’s Founding Shareholders have made a donation of £20,000 into Squad Builder for the 2024/25 season to match the money already raised by Bulls supporters this close season.
While the club will continue to only announce the total amount raised by supporters via its website, the donation by the Founding Shareholders means that the total raised so far has reached £40,000 – a truly fantastic total in just a couple of weeks.
The Bulls Chairman said:
“I’m running out of ways to say ‘thank you’ to our extraordinary fans but once again they have truly excelled themselves.
“For supporters to have raised over £20,000 in just two weeks is incredible, particularly when you consider that season tickets are on sale and our new membership scheme has also been launched.
“On behalf of everyone at the club, I’d like to echo the words shared by our manager, Paul Caddis, in his video message last week and simply say ‘thank you’ to you all and that your support is truly appreciated by everyone at the club. I’d also like to thank the Founding Shareholders for making a donation to match the total by supporters so far.
“While the money raised is already brilliant, it would be absolutely fantastic to smash past last season’s final Squad Builder total of around £60,000 and provide even more support for our manager as he looks to build a competitive squad for the 2024/25 season.”
Huge Opportunity!
As an example of the potentially massive impact the match funding offer could have on Squad Builder, if 250 fans were able to donate £10 a month for 12 months (approximately £2.50 per week), it would add £30,000 to the playing budget, while if 500 fans made the same donation, the total would reach £60,000.
That £60,000 would then be doubled to an incredible £120,000 thanks to the fantastic ‘match funding’ offer from the Founding Shareholders, so the opportunity for the club’s whole fanbase to work together to boost the playing budget this year is enormous!
